Recap: Happy Valentine's Day!

A few weeks ago was Valentine's Day and Todd and I stayed home and cooked it up right nice. We immediately opened up a nice bottle of wine, a 2005 Stag's Leap Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon, and snacked on Mahon and a Tartufo (Truffle) cheese while we cooked. The wine was amazing!! Gotta snap some more of this up!! To start, we had a Basil Tomato and Mozzarella salad. For dinner, we had our version of Surf & Turf. We grilled beef tenderloin and paired it with pan-seared scallops in a white wine/lemon reduction, grilled asparagus, and Pommes Boulangere (The Baker's Wife's Potatoes - a great scallop potato-like recipe from Patricia Wells but much lower in fat and calories as it is baked in wine and chicken stock, not cream). Earlier that day, Todd surprised me with beautiful flowers, a card, and cupcakes from Kickass Cupcakes in Davis Square! After dinner, we shared a few cupcakes...Delicious!! We had macchiatto and mojito cupcakes...really, quite delicious!! It was such a nice evening, can't wait to have another one like it!

Cupcakes....yummmmmm. We had a great cupcake place in Seattle, but the flavours were not as adventureous as yours. They make the perfect dessert though.

Ooohh yummy. We forgot it was valentines day (yes, Greg has me well trained) and actually tried to plan a last minute dinner party. Only when everyone started rejecting the invite did we realize our oversight. And the cupcakes we get around here are all the homemade by toddlers variety. But they are all good!
