Picking Apples, Making a Cupcake

Our little Cupcake is just 20 weeks away, due on Feb. 26th! I am definitely starting to feel him move around but not with any consistency yet. Today, to help the "baking" process along, we thought a nice big bag of freshly picked crisp apples from Honey Pot Hill Orchards in Stow, MA would be a nice help. Our picking consisted of picking up the bag of apples at the farm stand because there was way too much going on at the Orchard-- farm animals! Mazes! Warm cider donuts! And if you know me, I can't resist a farm animal. There were three pigs and three little pig houses, one made of straw, one of sticks and one of bricks. Not surprisingly, the pigs were huddled behind the brick house. There were also rabbits and chickens, but the highlight was the goat habitat!

There were some baby goats and adult goats and they had a big goat "play" apparatus. It looked like a big slide without the slide, just a series of ladders for the goats to climb to platforms where kids could pulley feed up to. Signs around the habitat directed people to not feed the goats by hand, but of course, the little ones were not heeding the signs at all. Todd turned to me and said "I hope this is still here in a few years" I know what he means, I want our Cupcake to go enjoy a fall day there too!

There were two mazes, which we enjoyed from a distance on this very busy day at the orchard. So once we picked some pumpkins and bought apples and apple cider (for Todd only, it wasn't pasteurized), we headed over to the bake shop. Mmmm, mmmm, mmm, cider donuts and caramel apples!!
